Raila Odinga Advocates Against Premature Campaigning, Stresses Fulfillment of Promises as Priority

In a move that echoes the call for responsible governance, Raila Odinga, a prominent figure in Kenyan politics, has urged elected leaders to prioritize fulfilling their promises before engaging in early campaign activities. This stance is a significant push for a more accountable and dedicated approach to governance.

Odinga emphasized the crucial need for elected officials to concentrate on delivering on the commitments they made to the public before being consumed by the rush of electioneering. His message comes as there is too much political temperature in the county, and Governor Anyang’ Nyongo must be supported to deliver to Kisumu residents as he is still in office until 2027.

Odinga who sounded agitated amidst applause from mourners at the burial of former Nyakach Mp Peter Odoyo's wife on Saturday, said that such campaigns will hurt the development plans of leaders in office.

Odinga also warned a number of MCAs in the Kisumu County Assembly who are crisscrossing the County campaigning for MP positions.
