In a recent operation by the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU), a 24-year-old suspected drug trafficker, Charles Obaga Kavehere, was apprehended. The ANU detectives intercepted a Score Investment Ltd bus traveling from Moyale to Nairobi in Thika, where Kavehere was among the passengers.

During a routine search, authorities discovered 417 grams of cocaine, valued at approximately Ksh.1.8 million, concealed under the inner sole of Kavehere's shoes. Subsequently, further screening at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport revealed that he had ingested additional drugs for transportation.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) stated, "Besides the 417g estimated at Sh1.8 million, he had swallowed more drugs that he intended to egest at the destination."

Kavehere is currently in custody facing pending legal action, as authorities await the egestion of the swallowed drugs. This arrest underscores the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and protect communities from its harmful effects.
